Before you ever leave the house, I recommend planning a solid trip in advance with airport parking. To avoid all that hassle on the big travel day, it is wise to reserve a parking spot. You wouldn’t have to race to the gate to make your flight. To avoid this scenario and the setbacks of disorganization, plan ahead with parking at Heathrow Some of the most spectacular architecture found in the United States is located in the capital city of Washington D.C. in the state of Maryland. Along with the white columns of monumental architecture, an outstanding array of museums and historic sights scattered across town are sure to intrigue the mind. For most kids in America, a visit to Washington is remembered by capturing a picture on the Capitol Steps with your school group. That is why these steps leading up to the Capitol building remain a popular spot for a photo opportunity.
When in Washington, I recommend a visit to Ford’s Theater, the very place where President Abraham Lincoln was shot during the production of Our American Cousin. Now the theater is open for tours and visited by many who are interested in Honest Abe and would like to further investigate his infamous assassination. One of the largest sights on capitol hill is the Lincoln Memorial, complete with a giant statue of the President sitting at an armchair. Just out front of this area is an enormous reflecting pool casting the image of the Washington monument onto the water. It is a serene walk down this elongated pool with the tall obelisk jutting into the sky. Another great monument to consider is the Jefferson Memorial which resembles the architectural style of the Roman Pantheon. This round memorial with a domed top is situated in one of the most scenic areas of the city. I recommend the Jefferson Memorial on a spring morning to get a peaceful view of the cherry blossoms and the water. A trip to D.C. would not be complete without first having a look inside the Library of Congress. The breathtaking architecture and astounding collection of books is one of the best sights in the city.

One of the buildings holds a fantastic gallery which originates from between the 13th and 18th Centuries, while the other is comprised of modern art works.
