Salzburg is located on the banks next to the beautiful Salzach River in Austria – within a very short distance of the German border. This charming town is located about 3 hours drive from Vienna or a 2 hour drive from Munich. The appropriately named, Salzburg W.A. Mozart International Airport is only about 20 minutes from the center of town and serves select, mostly European destinations.

The city is rich in history but perhaps most famous as the birthplace of Mozart. His home is still standing and is extremely popular with tourists – especially in the summer time. Don’t just stand outside and take selfies with the Mozart sign, a museum is housed inside dedicated to the man’s life and his music.

The Salzburg Festival is held annually in July and August and features a number of live performances including opera, theatre, and concerts.
