Respectfully, I would like to correct one art here. Khujand was an important city in the Soghdiana province of Iran. It was founded by Cyrus the great, mentioned in Darius’ inscription as and the destroyed and rebuild at least twice. Once after Alexander the Macedonian who had serious issues with culture and science, and next by Ghinghis Khan who had similar tendencies as those of Alexander’s. The Iranians rebuilt bigger and better each time. Thank you for the interesting blog.
