Dave! Your stuff is always super insightful and informative. We visited Taiwan for around 8 days, and stayed in Taipei. The subway is VERY efficient and affordable too. All in all, I got the sense as well that Taipei, and perhaps Taiwan, was growing by leaps and bounds. What surprised us, coming from Japan, were all the scooters!
