We are a young family with a 39ft boat and we’re sailing in Fiji and New Caledonia in 2008 and looking for crew to join us (July – October time). We like kitesurfing, surfing, snorkelling, hiking, making music, island hopping, uninhabited islands, beach parties etc…. No sailing experience is needed, shared costs. Email us for more information, dates, itinerary etc.: fransandsylvia@hotmail.com website updated: see www26.brinkster.com/moet

Let me know how long you will be in that part of the world – I am planning an extended trip for 2008 and part of 2009 and that is one part of world I have not yet been to. I was among the 7100+ islands in the Philippines recently and was very impressed by the beaches and tropical islands – from what I’ve seen of Fiji, it is just as impressive it not more so.

    Regards,

    hi dave
we have been wanting to go to the phillipines for ages, how was it? i hear it is a wonderful place for sailing with so many islands and good people. fiji too is great, we are looking forward to going back there again. as for whether we will still be in the area in the next couple of years it is hard to say… we plan to go back to nz at the end of this year, and probably will be selling ‘Moet’. (we have been on board for 7 years already) so the future is open at the moment, maybe stay in NZ, maybe go back to europe for a while… but… we definately intend on cruising again realtively soon. We are already dreaming of the next boat!! And our next cruising route (Micronesia, Phillipines, Indo…) But this in the future for now… I can definately recommend a visit to Fiji (Kadavu, Taveuni, Rabi, the Yasawas are all nice, and also Vava’u, Tonga is a great place to visit. (This is where we are anchored now). Vanuatu and the Solomons were probably my favourite places we’ve visited in the Pacific. And I definately recommend getting on a boat for a while it is the best way to explore the islands!
Enjoy planning your trip and happy travels, Sylvia

update 2008: in nz at moment, going back to islands later this year with our 2 boys after maintenance projects completed. maybe will sell boat in new cal or australia at end of year, otherwise keep on cruising….
