Beautiful Beaches without the Long Flight

I travel often to the coastal islands of South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. I enjoy helping people discover these beautiful islands where you can find beautiful beaches, palm trees, and plenty of sunshine relatively close to home (if you live in the U.S. and particularly on the East Coast).

Each island has a different feel and appeals to different types of travelers. Kiawah is a great spot for nature lovers or those looking for a quiet romantic getaway, while Hilton Head is the spot for families with active kids. Jekyll Island, GA appeals to those who enjoy vacations rich with history. Amelia Island, Florida is great for a quick getaway to the beach. Most of these islands are just a short drive from either Charleston, S.C. or Savannah, GA – both of which are well worth a day’s exploration or side trip for a few days.
