The owner of Investours http://www.envia.org (Now called Fundación En Vía) recently wrote me to share her new tour company in Mexico. Normally I don’t post information about specific tours here but this one does alot of good in their local communities and incorporates several cool ideas. They are based in Oaxaca Mexico and list the following on their website:
“Fundación En Vía is a non-profit organization providing socially-responsible tours and to poor communities where participants visit hardworking entrepreneurs in need of small loans to improve their lives. Tourists listen to the entrepreneurs’ business ideas and choose which projects merit investment. The group’s tour fees are then pooled and offered to the selected entrepreneurs as an interest-free small loan.”
The cost is very reasonable for tourists as well. Check them out!…and I will be sure to as well the next time I’m in Oaxaca. Visit: http://www.envia.org
