Over 2 years ago I hung my well deserved degree on the wall, grabbed a backpack and jetting off to Australia. I had very few plans past the first year. I picked up random jobs where i could, from selling sausages on the side of the road to working on a Hunting Camp in Arnhem Land. 20 months exploring Australia confirmed to me that I was never going home. Since Australia I have been jumping place to place, from Indonesia to Sweden to Thailand to New Zealand.

I’ve spent almost 20 years working as a journalist then moving around in the wonderful world of communications and public relation. This blog combines my passion for the written word with that of travel. Posts run the gamut, from camping in Alaska to snorkelling with a whale shark in Costa Rica to winter “yurting” in Gatineau Park.

Pulped Travel is, quite simply, a product of my great love for travel at home in the UK and, as far as my wallet will carry me, around the world. The site is aimed at those who like to travel. I am here for those who get excited about travel. We are Grace and Matt, a couple from Brooklyn by way of Seattle and Aix-en Provence in France respectively. We know, there are a lot of travel blogs out there. However this website simply stems from our passion for traveling, writing and photography, and the desire to share our experiences, lessons learned and favorite things to do with others. By presenting the site in English and French, we hope to bring more content to more readers.

The Pursuit of Excitement is a blog that promotes the notion of designing your life around the things that quicken your pulse, make you sit up straight in your chair when you read about them, and make you bound out of bed in the morning revved up and ready to go!

I love to travel, and I decided to chronicle my vacations for two reasons. One: I’m a complete goldfish. My leaky sieve brain will forget everything I've done in a matter of months, so I felt it was important to document things for my future self. And my mom. Two: The first thing I do before I plan a trip is reach out to my friends and family. I’ve received so much great travel advice over the years, and I wanted to pay it forward.

Traveling and going on new adventures feeds my soul. It is a necessary part of me and I cannot survive without it. The adrenaline of being out of my comfort zone in a new environment and overcoming the fear of the unknown makes me feel alive!
