Victory Guesthouse, Siem Reap |

The problem
with this hotel is not the rooms but with the owner and staff. I
arrived to look over the rooms at night and was told that it is
not safe to walk around the town of Siem Reap at night - so I
should just stay at this hotel. All the guide books I have read
say Siem Reap is quite safe to walk around at night - I walked
around at night for several nights and never felt uncomfortable.
The service was quite lousy here. At breakfast the person I was
with did not even receive what she ordered. While eating several
men stood hovering around at our table trying to listen in to our
every word. During the meal they tried to get us to commit to
going on one of their "tours". Mr. Sok Mao is the hotel

Hotel China Town Inn, Kuala Lumpur |

| This
place is a joke. One might consider this part of the charm, but to
enter the hotel you have to wade 2.5 blocks through a narrow
street unbelievably crowded with people and vendors. They list 59
RM as the price for a standard room, but then charged me 89 RM for
a very small room that had no windows and the Air Conditioning did
not work. Upon asking an employee to look at the AC unit, he told
me it seems cold enough to him. After sweating out most of the
night in nothing but shorts, I beg to differ. I asked the
attendant at the front counter about the cost of a taxi to the
airport and made it clear I had to leave before 6am and was quoted
65 RM, and then 2 hours later when I was ready to make my decision
I was quoted 85 RM because it was considered the "early"
price. Right. Web: www.chinatowninn.com |

Rent
a Banger, Uxgridge - London |
|
This
Company took an extra weeks rent (48 British LBS) from my bank without
my authority. They will not give me my money back and there is nothing I
can do about it. If you rent a car from them, my advice would be not to
give them your credit card. |

Rent
-a-banger car hire, Ruislip, London |

NEVER rent a
car from here! Tell you a rate of 45 per week - but this does not
include insurance. With insurance the total comes out to the same as
renting a near new car from a professional company like EASY rent a car.
So what is the point of getting a banger! Gave us a diesel car with
broken stereo and even the heater did not work (was 0 degrees in London
in the night!). They are so unprofessional that they do not even do a
pre and post inspection of the car in writing. After we returned it 5
days later in the post they sent us an invoice and a bill for a dent
they claim we made (which we did not and they have no evidence). Also
when you rent the car they charge a 300 pound deposit in advance for any
parking tickets etc which they only refund after a month - no other
reputed car rental company would do this. To top it all off they are
also VERY rude and have very limited opening hours – so no returns after
6pm or night rents. Like another review on this site you miss the drop
off time by even an hour and they charge you for a whole extra week!
(they even have a sign in their office stating this most unreasonable of
statements). Please travelers and friends be warned! Use a reputed
company - this is not a bargain! what you get is a banger for regular
price is a banger (people actually tried to hail me down as a minicab
while driving their banger) dodgy service and no legal
protection/security - absolutely not worth it - an experience I
thoroughly regret. |

| We stayed in what
was purportedly "The best B&B in Mexico," but it turned
out to be an extreme disappointment. Hostile hotel owners, creepy decor
(plants everywhere, candles, birdcages, dark paintings), and overpriced
rooms make Casa Mexilio a place to avoid. Website no longer active. |

This hotel (Sawasdee
House) reportedly does *not* allow Thai people to stay here. In fact
they won't even allow Thai people into their hotel to look at the rooms.
Do NOT stay at this hotel and spread the word. They are located at 147

| I had several
bad experiences at this hotel during my 2 night stay. First of all in
general, the hotel was built in 1994 but the rooms look much older than
that and have a somewhat shabby look & feel. Breakfast is included but
isn't very much at all - and isn't that good. A little fruit, some egg
and some oily ham. One morning we arrived 10 minutes before they closed
for breakfast and they "ran out of plates" on the front counter and
refused to get us another plate. That type of service just is not good.
Downstairs they will exchange money for you. I gave them a bill and they
refused to exchange it because they said the bill was "fake". We
examined it and another one of the same denomination under their
infrared light - seeing no difference and after my insisting, they
finally took the bill. They have two Internet computer stations
downstairs. Both should work at once right? Well for some reason, only
one could be used at any one time. Lastly, this one tops the cake. They
advertise having "....a massage parlor with qualified staff." Ha, what a
joke! The lady giving me the massage was like some crazy sex starved
woman, making grunting noises (Uh, uh, uh) as she gave me my massage,
thrusting herself in contorted positions over me and then trying to do
things she really shouldn't have. Between trying to keep her hands where
they belonged, getting a one handed massage while she talked to some guy
on her cell phone, listening to her sexual noises, and then cutting the
massage 15 minutes short, she had the audacity to ask for a tip and then
complain when I told her "bad massage!" Unbelievable! Phone: 82
44775, Address: 1c Tong Dan Street in the Hoan Kiem District. |

| I paid
about $23 US dollars several years ago for a New Year's dinner here. I
received a meal no better than Denny's topped off by a chocolate cake
that might have been purchased at a cheap drugstore. In addition, when
we complained about the food the staff totally dismissed our complaints and
was in general quite rude. They are located at Calle 60 No. 497,
upstairs, overlooking the Parque de la Madre. Tel. 928-1928. |
