We had a fresh perspective on Moscow having just returned from this huge sprawling city and finding this book in our stack of newly arrived travel books. Moscow is definitely big and can be overwhelming to the first time tourist however this book does an excellent describing the main highlights in each city. Fortunately many of the main attractions are located within Moscow’s city center and can be reached by walking or using the metro.
Well presented maps are key to spending any time in Moscow or St. Petersburg for solo travelers and this Moon guidebook delivers in that regards. Fourteen full color maps of both cities are listed in the front of the guidebook including the all important Moscow metro map. Several suggested itineraries are also suggested – which are especially helpful for first time travelers.
