forehoweI just returned from a trip in Southern California and stayed at 2 places that I eagerly recommend:
In Cambria (a charming little seaside town in the Paso Robles Wine Country just a little south of Hearst Castle): We stayed at a great California bed and breakfast called Blue Whale Inn. The innkeepers were friendly and warm…..they served great appetizers and breakfast and it was on the ocean.
In Temecula (which is about an hour north of San Diego, 90 min. south of Los Angeles) South Coast Resort has great villas that are luxurious right in the midst of the beautiful Temecula wine country. There was every amenity you could think of including private patio overlooking orchards and vineyard, jacuzzi tub, beautiful rooms, bottle of wine….
We would gladly stay at each of these places again.
