Most international visitors will arrive at the primary airport, (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) located about an hour or more from central Saigon with traffic (or less then 30 minutes without traffic). Arriving visitors will see many taxis – most of them white or blue with the name “Airport Taxi” on the side of the car. Be careful of the taxis here, either arrange the price ahead of time or use taxi drivers that will use their meter.

Visit our in depth article on how to use Taxis for more information on taxi procedures. When you first enter the taxi the meter will be set to either 6000 or 12000 Vietnamese Dong. This is normal as it is 6000 dong for 1 km and the minimum dong per trip is either 6000 or 12000.
