April 5, 2025 by Sam SamiLeave a Comment

Cruises are typically associated with iconic, well-known destinations like the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, or Alaska. While these classic ports of call are undeniably beautiful, there’s a growing trend toward more unique, off-the-beaten-path cruise destinations. In 2025, travelers are looking to get away from the crowds and explore lesser-known, yet equally stunning locations that offer a more intimate and authentic cruising experience. If … [Read more...]

And the Oscar Goes to: Rio de Janeiro!

March 20, 2025 by DaveLeave a Comment

Urca: The Tranquil Refuge in Rio de Janeiro The Urca neighborhood, one of the oldest in Rio, is where the main house of the film is located, a setting that blends charm and serenity. With tree-lined streets, historic houses, and a stunning view of Sugarloaf Mountain, Urca evokes a sense of warmth that is central to the film's narrative. Take a stroll along the Mureta da Urca, enjoy a pastel with a cold beer, and watch the sunset in one of the … [Read more...]

Imsouane, Surfing in the Winter Sun

March 20, 2025 by Rosie McCannLeave a Comment

It’s twenty-two degrees. I’m sitting in the Atlantic, squinting from the glare of the sun over the water. Its 6pm but the sun is still bright. I sit on my board and let the waves pass underneath me. The bay gets busy in Imsouane. Magic Bay lays claim to one of the longest waves in Africa, and the tourists and locals alike are waiting their turn for a smooth ride, over the glassy ocean, all the way in to the beach. This isn’t my first time in … [Read more...]

Baguio: The City of Mists

March 15, 2025 by Junfil OlarteLeave a Comment

As our bus wound its way up the serpentine roads of Kennon Road, the transformation was gradual, yet unmistakable. The humid lowland air of the Philippines gave way to an increasingly cool mountain breeze, while the tropical vegetation slowly morphed into stands of towering pine trees. We were ascending to Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines, perched 5,200 feet above sea level in the Cordillera mountain range of northern … [Read more...]

A short stay in Hampshire (just isn’t enough!)

November 5, 2024 by Amanda ChalmersLeave a Comment

While visiting family in Hampshire, I decided to make a weekend of it and accept an invitation to make our base the newly rebranded voco® Winchester Hotel & Spa. Previously part of the Holiday Inn group of hotels, we were lucky enough to be among the first to have the voco® experience as the wraps came off a £2m refurbishment. The contemporary hotel, which was first built in 2010, is located on the edge of the beautiful South Downs … [Read more...]

Tom Brady Sold His Rolls-Royce Ghost At Auction

October 3, 2024 by Joe SafronLeave a Comment

Tom Brady sold his Rolls-Royce Ghost at auction in August 2024. Interestingly, though, the auction house did not release the final price of the sale and it is not public information. The press suggested that bidding had reached around $400,000 for the signed vehicle midway through proceedings. However, officials did not release the sale price figures in a statement, as they normally would. If the vehicle sold for a $400,000 price tag, it … [Read more...]
