We have traveled in Ireland several times and visited most areas, including Dublin.. Every tip was a lovely experience. The Irish people were friendly and helpful. We rent a car and usually stay and eat in small hotels with a chef
(Not expensive if you do your homework), also, we enjoy the pub food. Dublin, like any large city has certain problems, but it is still a very interesting city, not unsafe, and well worth a visit.
