About Patricia Pagenel

http://www.zewanderingfrogs.com

Adventure travel bloggers & outdoor fans, Patricia & Bruno are French-Americans who love to explore the world for new experiences.

They grew up in France, lived in Scotland, Taiwan, and Germany, and now call sunny California home. Together they discovered 30+ countries over 5 continents and keep on planning for more exciting trips.

Some of their top adventure experiences include mushing their own dog teams in the Arctic Canada, seating by a Silverback gorilla in Rwanda, walking among iguanas and boobies in the Galapagos, diving among Manta Ray in Hawaii or groupers in the Great Barrier Reef, trekking in the Himalayas in Nepal, or watching Giraffe walking by from the tent in Serengeti.

Northern California is their current outdoor playground: from snowboarding at Lake Tahoe in winter to kiteboarding around San Francisco Bay Area or backpacking in the Sierra Nevada in the summer.

Their travel experiences, photos & videos can be found on their travel blog ZeWanderingFrogs.com, with more to come.

July 4, 2017 by Patricia Pagenel1 Comment

Ulaanbaatar is the gateway to Mongolia. Not only all international flights land there but also the country road system start from the capital. Whether you are recovering from your flight or preparing your trip, make sure to spend some time in Ulaanbaatar proper. Or in UB as travelers and Mongolian call it. Top Things to Do in Ulaanbaatar Several sites are interesting and worth a visit. We visited a couple of them and were glad we did. Seeing … [Read more...]

The Tsaatan Nomads – Mongolia Reindeer Herders

December 28, 2016 by Patricia PagenelLeave a Comment

The Tsaatan Nomads, also known as the Dukhan, live high in the Ulaan Taiga mountain range of Mongolia. Russia borders the region to the west, the Darkhad Valley and Lake Khövsgöl (Khövsgöl Nuur) to the east. Through millennia, the Tsaatan livelihood has been tied to their reindeer herd. Today the roughly 500 Dukhan left are some of the last of the reindeer herders in the world. Reaching the Tsaatan camp is a challenging endeavor as it takes … [Read more...]

Sand Dunes and Sunset Kiteboarding in Jericoacoara

September 21, 2016 by Patricia PagenelLeave a Comment

Jericoacoara - Think sand dunes, warm water, strong winds, and epic kiteboarding sessions. Oh, and a cold Caipirinha while watching the sunset from the sand dunes after a hard day... What used to be a small fishing village has long become a mecca for wind water sports such as kiteboarding and windsurfing. Located 300 km west of Fortaleza, Jericoacoara, or Jeri as it is commonly known, is a great place to experience windy activities but also to … [Read more...]

A 3-Day Itinerary on Kangaroo Island, South Australia

August 16, 2016 by Patricia Pagenel2 Comments

We started our 3-week stay in Australia with 3 days on Kangaroo Island. The appeal of Australia was without surprise its rich and unique wildlife. Kangaroo Island seems to encompass many of what we looked for. Why Kangaroo Island? The third largest island in Australia with 155 km long and 55 km wide (96 miles by 34 miles), Kangaroo Island is not on the tourist trail and has stayed untouched from the big tourism. Indeed, a third of the island … [Read more...]

Following the Reindeer Migration and Snowmobiling on the Mackenzie River

July 3, 2016 by Patricia PagenelLeave a Comment

Anna and Hendrik watching the herd on Richard Island

When we read about a reindeer migration in Arctic Canada, we knew we had to go to Inuvik. And we would follow them with the snowmobiles. The beginning of another Arctic adventure! How the Reindeer Came to Inuvik Back in the early 1900s, the Inuvik region faced a shortage of caribou, a major diet element for the local Inuvialuit population. The United States and Canadian governments launched the Alaskan Reindeer Experiment to bring … [Read more...]
