Around the World in 50 Years: My Adventure to Every Country on Earth

July 2, 2015 by Dave2 Comments

One can travel around the world and one will certainly collect his share of experiences – but then can one write about his travels in an engaging and a humorous way? The answer is a resounding yes when it comes to author Albert Podell who made it his mission to visit every single country in the world.

Author, adventurer, former editor of Playboy and explorer – the titles mount up for Albert – this is his latest book about his life wandering the planet. With 50 years of travel under his belt he has visited every country on earth Albert has lived a life of adventure more than many people combined; these are his adventures.

Even hard core travelers don’t find themselves in some of the predicaments that befall Albert. Take for instance the time in Bangladesh when he had a noose around his neck and was minutes from being hung by a mob crowd only to be saved by some quick thinking and a messy incident and someone who showed up with impeccable timing. OR the time he was jailed in Baghdad or almost drowned in Costa Rica. His stories are endless and intriguing.

The final chapter answers a few common questions that a traveler of this stature often receives. It is a short chapter but and important one, especially his answer to, “Of all you saw, what most concerns you?”

Thanks very much for for the information regarding Albert Podell, Dave. Good article. As soon as we are back in NYC later this month, we must purchase his book. Wow = traveled to every country on earth – it’s mind blowing. We have a long way to go to catch up and our friend in Verona too – – you know who.

Yea, Albert is in the select few who have done so – I hope to be at 150 countries in the next 2 to 2.5 years. Starting to get close 🙂
Hope to see you both on the road somewhere again.
