Hopland, CA – Lodging

Lodging in and immediately around Hopland lodging is extremely limited. Visitors to Hopland might consider staying in Cloverdale (about 15 minutes to the south of Hopland) or in Ukiah – only about 15 minutes north of Hopland (both Cloverdale and Ukiah are easy drives to and from Hopland). Alternatively, Lakeport is about 40 minutes to the east – the quickest route being the very windy and slow Highway 175 (with parts of the road sometimes single lanes in places depending on winter storm damage).

Ukiah and Cloverdale both offer very reasonable hotel rates. Here are some of the basic lodging options in the Hopland area.

All phone numbers are in the 707 area code unless otherwise noted.

  • Piazza de Campovido is located directly in downtown Hopland and is part of the Piazza de Campovido property. Offers seven spacious and deluxe suites for guests all located on the second floor. One of the most luxurious buildings in Hopland. First floor features the Piazza and bar along with the Hopland Stock Farm restaurant. Super convenient when you want to stumble downstairs for a drink or for that matter, crawl up stairs after a long night of drinking. Phone: (707) 744-1977 or visit: www.piazzadecampovida.com/inn

  • Sheldon Creek is a site for camping about a 30-40 minute drive south east of Hopland (3 miles on paved road about 7 miles on a dirt very pot-holed road). They have six tent sites available although at last report only 2 are usable. Popular spot with those who like to shoot off guns.

Piped water, toilets, picnic tables, and grills are also available. No reservations required – camping is free and is first come, first served. For more information call the Bureau of Land Management at (707) 468-4000.
  •

  • Tumblewood Tiny House, Real Goods is a tiny abode on the grounds of the Real Goods Solar property – located within a few second walk of the main entrance to the store. This 89 square foot home is on wheels but during our numerous visits to the property always seems to be parked in the same spot. Cozy to the point of being cute, will house a maximum of 2 people. Reasonably priced considering there the lack of affordable and any lodging for that matter in or around Hopland.

And for budget travelers, Real Goods also offers a camping area (located next to their dirt driveway) – a small grassy field is available (with some shade trees, no leaves during the winter) and an outdoor kitchen and a shared bathroom/shower area.
