Comfort Inn is rated 2 stars. This property is located directly on US 395 (main street Lone Pine) at 1920 S. Main Street (the furthest south hotel in Lone Pine). They have 58 rooms. All rooms have refrigerators and cable TV. Free hot breakfast (a bit more then just a small continental breakfast).
Prices range from $89 to $129 PHONE NUMBER 876-8700.- Dow Villa Motel is rated 3 stars and is located at 310 South Main Street & has 42 rooms, all with refrigerators, irons, hair dryers, coffee makers, beautiful furnishings & decor. This motel has been family owned since 1957. They have a heated pool, and is the only motel in town with an outdoor whirlpool. Very historic having been founded in 1923. Has provided a rooms to many movie stories over the years while they were in the area filming. The list includes Tom Mix, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Gail Davis and John Wayne. In case you are interested in staying in the room with Mr. Wayne hung out, that is motel room number 20.

Mt. Whitney Motel is rated 2 stars and is located at 305 North Main Street. They have 29 rooms and there is a restaurant nearby. Some rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. Family owned for 25+ years. A swimming pool on site. Additional rooms found at their annex.

Portal Motel is rated 1 star and is located at 425 South Main Street. They have 17 rooms and there is dining nearby. All rooms have refrigerators. This is a family owned and operated hotel since the early 2000’s. Recently renovated – each room has 32″ TV’s and free Wifi. Plenty of parking on site. Easy walking distance to several restaurants and shops.

Timberline Motel is located just off of the Main Street a block or two in at 215 E Post St. Very quiet neighborhood. Fairly affordable rooms. Rooms are clean.
Rooms come with either King or Queen size beds, air conditioning, refrigerators and microwaves. Also wifi. Smoking and non smoking rooms are available. Small parking lot on site but street parking is also available. Laundry services offered for a minimal charge.
Trails Motel is rated 1 star and is located at 633 South Main Street. They have 17 rooms and all have microwaves.

Whitney Portal Hostel is very centrally located in downtown Lone Pine – with easy walking access to various restaurants and shops including a nearby mountaineering store.
Great place to meet people from all over the world – especially from Europe. Private rooms and shared rooms are available (with bunk beds). Visitor’s not staying here can rent a shower. Also highly useful is their active message board with climbers and hikers often updating their most recent climb to the summit.
Also affiliated with the Whitney Portal Store near the trailhead to Mt. Whitney – 13 miles to the west. The store keeps basic hiking and fishing supplies, numerous affordable t shirts and also serves basic grub. Photos here of both the hostel/hotel and the store. Visit: www.mountwhitneyportal.com
