Best Places to Visit in Bangladesh

Bangladesh is a beautiful small country in South Asia bordering India and Myanmar is yet to be developed in tourism. There are many beautiful places here to visit, it is one of the least tourist destinations in the world. The people of Bangladesh are very friendly and hospitable. They welcome tourists everywhere and try to help them. The country is full of cultural wonders such as the tea-covered highlands of Srimangal to the gorgeous golden sands of Cox’s Bazar, which is actually the third longest beach in the world. Here we post a Travel Guide and a top list of the Best Places to Visit in Bangladesh.

Cox’s Bazar

Cox’s Bazar is the prime beach and tourist town in Bangladesh, situated alongside the beach of the Bay of Bengal, besides the Indian Ocean, having an unbroken 120 Kilometer golden sand beach, reachable through motor transport alongside the wavy water. Cox’s Bazar is consists of miles of golden sands, towering cliffs, surfing waves, rare conch shells, colorful pagodas, Buddhist temples, and tribes.

The most attractive tourist Resort full of bounties of nature in Bangladesh. Having the world’s longest unbroken 120 km beaches slopping gently down to the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal against the picturesque background of a chain of hills covered with deep green forests.

St Martin’s Island a small island in the northeast of the bay of Bengal, about 9 km south of the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf peninsular tip and forming the southernmost part of Bangladesh.

St. Martin’s Island

St. Martin’s Island, also known as Narikel Jinjira (an island of coconut) and Daruchinir Deep (an island of cinnamon), is one of the most visited tourist spots in Bangladesh. The only coral island in Bangladesh is about 8 km in length and rarely more than 1km wide. It is about 10 km (6 mi) southwest of the southern tip of Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf peninsula.

Sundarbans

A unique eco-tourism destination, the Sundarbans, is the largest Mangrove Forest on earth and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stretches about 80km into the Bangladeshi and Indian mainland from the coast of the Bay of Bengal. 60% of this mist-shrouded forest is located in Bangladesh. Though this 10,500 km2 forest area is surrounded by two of the most densely populated country on three sides, it remains remote, inhospitable, and largely uninhabited by people.

Intersected by a complex network of rivers and creeks, mudflats, and tiny islands, this amazing forest is comprised of two elementary ecoregions: The Mangrove Forest and the Freshwater Swamp Forest.


Sonargaon

Sonargaon or The village of gold was the old capital of Bengal in the medieval period. It was a significant administrative and business center at that time. During the medieval period, it was the mint capital. From the 13th century, Sonargaon was used as the capital city by different rulers of eastern Bengal. In the mid-13th century, it was the capital of the Hindu Deva dynasty. But after a short time, Muslim rulers acquired it and made it their capital city.

Lalbagh Fort

During the height of the Mughal Empire, in 1677, Prince Muhammad Azam commissioned the construction of the Lalbagh Fort, but the project was never completed. Soon after construction began, Prince Muhammad Azam left Dhaka to join his father, Emperor Aurangzeb, in Delhi. Three main sections of the fort are complete, namely the Mausoleum of Pari Bibi, Diwan-i-Aam (the Hall of Audience), and Quilla Mosque. The Mausoleum of Pari Bibi consists of a white marble room with the tomb in the center. Access to the room is restricted. Lalbag Fort is one of the Best Places To Visit in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Srimongol

Srimongol is the tea capital of Bangladesh, located in the northeastern part of the country. This is one of the place few places in the country where if you look around, you may not find any other people anywhere except you. A really nice and calm place. Cycling through the trails inside the tea Plantations here could be one of the best things you can do in Bangladesh. Also worth visiting is the lawachhara National Park, and the trek to Hamham waterfalls. Srimangal is one of the Best Places To Visit in Sylhet, Bangladesh.

Tangoar Haor

At the foot of the Meghalaya ranges in the middle of Tahirpur and Dharmapasha Upazilla under Sunamgonj district in north-east Sylhet is a vast swampland popularly known as Tangoar Haor that spans over an area of nearly 100 square kilometers. Cascading from the Meghalaya about 30 waterfalls flow into this large water body engendering a charm that is truly rare. Kaptai Lake

The largest artificial lake which was built in 1960 for hydroelectricity, is the most popular for local tourist who comes here to enjoy its crystal water of it. A fascinating boat trip for a full day on this lake is worth it. A tragic history behind this lake is that there were 100,000 tribes, mostly Chakma, were displaced for the creation of this today’s lake, and about 40% of the land they cultivated underwater forever. another one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh.

Bandarban

Bandarban Hill District is the most remote and least populated district in Bangladesh. It is one of the three hill districts of Bangladesh and a part of the Chittagong Hill Tracts, the others being Rangamati District and Khagrachhari District. There are many tourist spots available in Bandarban. Nilgiri, Nilachal, Chimbuk Hill, Shoilo Propat, Nafakhum, Meghla, Thanchi, Prantik Lake, Boga Lake, Buddhist Temple, Keokradong, Tajingdong and the waterfalls- Baklai, Chinri Jhiri, Faipi, Patang Jhiri, Jadipai and Amiakhum- All are beautiful.

Kuakata

Known as Sagar Kannya or the Daughter of the sea, A beautiful beach with sunrise and sunset views. Kuakata is famous for its panoramic sea beach Tourist Attraction in Bangladesh. Kuakata beach is the leading Tourist Attraction in Barisal Division. It is one of the two sea beaches in South Asia where both Sunrise and sunset at sea can be observed. Kuakata is on the Bay of Bengal, and the waters are filled by the great rivers which flow from the north. The waters are not the primary tropical colors you demand in the tropics. Still, the beach is pleasant.
