Day-by-Day Trekking Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Dharapani (1,860m)
Begin your adventure traveling from Kathmandu to Dharapani, the official start of the trek.
Day 2: Dharapani to Chame (2,710m)
Trek along the Marsyangdi River, passing prayer wheels and pine forests.
Day 3: Chame to Upper Pisang (3,300m)
Enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna II and explore traditional Tibetan villages.
Day 4: Upper Pisang to Manang (3,540m)
Gain altitude and immerse yourself in the cultural heart of the region.
Day 5: Acclimatization in Manang
Optional hikes to Gangapurna Glacier or relax and acclimate to altitude.
Optional Side Trip: Tilicho Lake (4,919m)
From Manang, you can take a detour to visit Tilicho Lake, one of the world’s highest alpine lakes (4,919 m / 16,138 ft). It’s surrounded by towering peaks and turqouise blue or frozen over (which was what we got!) depending when you visit, making it a must-see for adventurous trekkers.
Day 6: Manang to Yak Kharka (4,000m)
Trek through high-altitude pastures dotted with grazing yaks.
Day 7: Yak Kharka to Thorong Phedi (4,540m)
Prepare for the challenging pass crossing the next day.
Day 8: Thorong Phedi to Muktinath via Thorong La Pass (5,416m)
Cross Thorong La Pass, one of the highest trekking passes in the world. This demanding ascent offers spectacular panoramic Himalayan views and a sense of true achievement. Descend to the sacred town of Muktinath, a revered pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. Feel free to use walking poles as lightsabers at the top of the pass if you want.
Day 9: Muktinath to Jomsom (2,720m)
Descend into the dry Kali Gandaki valley and reach the town of Jomsom.
Day 10: Jomsom to Pokhara (Flight)
Fly to Pokhara to relax by the tranquil Phewa Lake after the trek.
Day 11: Pokhara to Kathmandu (Flight or Drive)
Return to Kathmandu, concluding the trip.
