Born and raised on a beautiful ranch north of Krugersdorp in the Transvaal province, South Africa, I left my motherland in 1988 (after enjoying a 7-year student life at the University of Johannesburg and the University of Pretoria) to explore the world. My first stop was Toronto, Canada, where I spent almost 9 years exploring Canada and the USA - from east to west, and south to north, including all corners and in-between!

I am a passionate traveler with an unquenchable penchant for writing (sounds fancy, huh ) I worked in the software industry for more than 8 years before leaving it to take up full-time writing.

Now, 6 years later with six solo vacations under my belt I am excited to launch Gluten-Free Globetrotter. I hope this website is both a guide to traveling on a gluten-free diet as well as motivation for those with Celiac Disease to get up and live their lives and not be scared.

I live in London (UK) and I’m very lucky to have had the opportunity to travel all over the world (my itchy feet have taken me to 60 countries now!). I absolutely love checking out the local shops and markets for interesting fruit, vegetables and gluten free products when I’m abroad.
