Hannah has travelled three continents as a solo female backpacker and hopes her writing will encourage other women to take the leap whether they have a travel partner or not.

Launched in 2015, Happiest When Exploring is the travel blog for exploring and learning about the globe: known and unknown destinations and tasting the local cuisine – vegan-ized. Just like you, I travel for fun, seek out adventure and new experiences.

We are a newly married couple and live in Santa Monica, California with our dog, Buddy. We are not a travel couple in the sense that we travel the world year around. Instead, we believe the greatest adventure is to love the life you live and we try our best to make the little things exciting. Oh, and we do try to travel as much as we can!

I discovered I was passionate about travelling at the age of 23 when I attended an International Students Festival in Norway. There was something special about that trip. For the first time I realized that many young people around the world shared my thoughts and ideas.

We are Ashly and Carlos, the Happy Nomad Couple, and we are taking off on our Round the World trip in March 2017! Tune in to see how we prepare to take off on the road and live the nomadic lifestyle, tracking our travels and our dollars.

In 2013 I quit my office job to travel around Asia for six months and it blew my mind! I felt so free and experienced interesting cultures, met really cool people and really felt like I was living my life.

I created Happy to Wander because I wanted a space to share my love for travel with curious optimists just like me. In a nutshell, this is a blog meant for curious people who love the world, for those who see the beauty in simple things and live for new adventures and experiences… My goal is to show you how lovely our world can be, and hopefully inspire you to see it for yourself.
