Disney Delights: Tips for a Magical Vacation at Walt Disney World

August 16, 2023 by Charlie ClaytonLeave a Comment

For a trip that allows you to make memories you won’t forget for the rest of your life, as well as to fall back into your childhood dreams and experience some true magic, Disney World in Florida is a must-try destination.

Walt Disney World Resort, to give its full name, has more than earned its reputation as one of the most enchanting destinations on the planet.

It achieves such enchantment in part through the abundance of rides, amusements, activities, and attractions that it serves up. Indeed, this enduringly popular entertainment resort complex – which can trace its history back to 1971 – is sure to appeal to even the fussiest family members who may be travelling with you.

But to ensure you all emerge having had the time of your lives on your Florida Disney holiday together, you might want to follow certain tips. Below, we have outlined some of those tips, which will help you lose yourself in all the wonders that Disney World has to offer in the legendary “Sunshine State”.

1. Don’t Book Through Disney
This one may be somewhat controversial, but if you are seeking optimal value for money, don’t assume that your best deal will come from booking directly through Disney. Instead, consider reliable third-party travel agents and advisers. They may be able to offer some great deals on your overall vacation, and these small savings can quickly add up.

You may also be able to take advantage of special deals or offers through another provider. So, you should always do your homework and make sure you are getting the best value for money with your chosen agent.

2. Stay On Site
Having said all the above, it is a good idea to opt to stay on-site, no matter who you choose to book with. While there are a host of accommodation options across Florida, staying in Disney World itself will allow you to really get closer to the action, and immerse yourself in the Disney experience in a way that other villas and options simply cannot offer.

While it may be a little pricier to stay in the Disney accommodation, you will have access to a host of benefits, including reliable transport, dining plans, and access to the Disney “Magic Hour”. The latter is now referred to as “Extended Evening Theme Park Hours”, which allow those staying on-site to access the park after hours. Indeed, this can include exclusive experiences and opportunities that are not available to those staying outside the perimeter of the park.

In short, if you are looking for that full Disney experience, staying in one of the parks is definitely recommended.

3. Discover Genie+
While you are in the park, you will want to do all that you can to avoid the crowds and enjoy your time there. Sure enough, getting your head around the Genie+ system is another great way to ensure you make the most of every moment you have at Walt Disney World Resort.

An upgrade from the old FastPass systems, Genie+ allows guests expedited access to certain rides. As a result, it could really help you to reduce queue times, so that you can be more confident of doing and seeing everything on your Disney World wishlist during your time there.

4. Visit During Off-Peak Times
Another top tip to help make the most of your Florida Disney World vacation is to visit during off-peak times. Although this can be tricky, it will offer a number of benefits.

If possible, try to avoid the holidays and summer months when the parks tend to be more crowded. Not only is this the best way to save money, but it also allows you to experience more of the attractions with a shorter wait time, ensuring you have a chance to explore Disney World in all its glory.

5. Download The Disney World App
The Disney World app is another essential for your trip, and is known as My Disney Experience. This is perfect for helping you stay up to date on park events, get wait times for rides, and find your favourite characters in the park.

More than “just” an app, My Disney Experience is a key resource giving you the information you need to make sure your trip is as rewarding and worthwhile as it can be.

Final Thoughts
Heading off on a trip to Florida’s world-renowned Walt Disney World Resort will be an amazing opportunity for you to experience a little magic, make some incredible memories, and spend precious quality time with your loved ones.

With our inside tips and tricks, you can ensure every moment of your trip is memorable for all the right reasons, and take advantage of every opportunity for fun that Disney World can offer.
