Things You Should Know About Implants in Thailand

October 29, 2019 by Alex Christodoulou1 Comment

An increasing number of Aussies and Kiwis travel abroad for dental work. Some procedures that cost tens of thousands of dollars Down Under are available for less in Bangkok, including dental implants. Before you start planning your trip you need to know more about undergoing the treatment in Thailand:

Experienced Dentists
Dental clinics in Thailand are home to experienced and highly qualified dentists, the majority of whom completed their education abroad. As such, they are familiar with international dentistry standards. The clinics listed on Dental Departures, and the following have been recommended for their high standards of dental care:

• New Smile Dentists
• DDS Dental Clinic
• Patong Smile Dental Clinic

High-Quality Clinics
If you are thinking about getting dental implants in Thailand, an important point to consider is the quality of supplies and materials the Thai dental clinics use as the quality of implants depends greatly on the materials used. In Thailand, dentists source virtually the same materials as their counterparts Down Under and as result, the quality of treatment available is equal with what you could expect at a top clinic in Australia or New Zealand.

Pre-Procedure Preparations
Before you go undergo a dental implant procedure you should speak to your dentist in detail about the procedure. Dentists advise getting a complete dental check-up to ensure you are of sound oral health. If you have any ailments, you need to seek treatment before the dentist can insert the implants.

The Implant Procedure
If you are planning on getting dental implants in Thailand, you should know that dental implants are a two-stage procedure. You will need to make 2 trips to Thailand for stages 1 and 2. The first step involves inserting the titanium implants into your jawbone. Before the dentist installs the artificial teeth on top of the implants, the implants need to fuse to your jawbone which takes three to six months. The final step involves installing the artificial teeth onto the implants.

Getting Started
Now that you know all about getting dental implants in Thailand, you can plan your trip accordingly. Find out more by heading to Dental Departures, and if you are ready to book an appointment online at no extra charge.
