Amsterdam Canal District Named UNESCO World Heritage Site

NEW YORK, NY August 4, 2010 - The Amsterdam canal district has been added to the prestigious United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Heritage List! The decision was announced at the 34th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Brazil, making the canal district the 9th World Heritage Site in The Netherlands. Off the Beaten Path to Paradise

It was a just a girl's getaway. We chose Amelia Island at the northernmost corner of Florida because we heard it was a lovely retreat without the usual tourist trappings of clogged roads, traffic jams and busy shopping malls with the same stores we had back home. Mariposa Sequoia Grove is the largest grove in the area and is located just 2 miles from the southern park entrance along Highway 41. Sundarbans Tour, Bangladesh
