Savannah Grace: Author & Traveler

October 9, 2012 by Dave6 Comments

From 2005 through 2009 Savannah traveled the world with her family. We recently came across her book and were fascinated by her travels, details from the road and depth of writing. Recently we had the opportunity to ask her a number of questions about her travels, first book and upcoming plans.   Q. Tell us a little about yourself and how you first decided to write "Sihpromatum, I Grew My Boobs in China". My name is Savannah … [Read more...]

Travel Unscripted

October 8, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

Travel Unscripted by Mark Murphy is just that, a sort of travelogue - free flowing stories based on many of Mark's International trips and adventures. And yes, Mark is probably in planes more often then he likes to admit. These tales range from China to Russia, from the Middle East to Asia. He writes of engaging stories that can only be experienced while "on the road". Spontaneity: from continuing to bump into a beautiful dark haired stranger … [Read more...]

Parrot Learning Digital Audio Pen Reader (Reviewed: Oct 2012) Who would have thought a talking pen could help make learning a language easier! Introducing the "Chinese Talking Travel Guidebook" from Parrot Learning. We have taken a number of trips to either Hong Kong or mainland China and in advance of another trip to the mainland - we've been using this guidebook in anticipation of our trip. So, Saipan…Surprise Me!

August 1, 2012 by Dave7 Comments

So, Saipan - we heard there wasn't much to see on your small island and our expectations were low after reading a number of negative reviews online. Sure there is poker in nearly every laundromat, an inordinate number of empty buildings, some falling into disrepair, an underlying problem with a gambling addiction, hence several 24-hour pawn shops - and nearly every market displaying permanent signs indicating "we accept food stamps" with … [Read more...]

Dropping onto Saipan

July 16, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

Dropped into Saipan in the dead of night - starry skies, the blackness of the sea greeted us - disturbed only by the lights emanating from this small island. I had only done cursory research before our visit here and after speaking for nearly 2 hours to my seatmate who lives here now - I wasn't really sure what to expect. He spoke of sweat shops (now extinct), high alcoholism, a hub for smuggling drugs in from China, unemployment, gambling … [Read more...]

The Halong Bay Monster

June 25, 2012 by John Edwards1 Comment

Like Scotland's Loch Ness Monster, Vietnam has its very own sea serpent legend-one which resembles a prehistoric escapee from "Here There Be Dragons" on the edges of Age of Exploration mappa mundi. Trapped in lovely Ha Long Bay ("Where the Dragon Descends into the Sea"), "The Tarasque" is not only a version of Nessie but purportedly just as camera-shy. Featured in the 1997 James Bond film "Tomorrow Never Knows," Ha Long Bay is now a UNESCO … [Read more...]

Exploring the Wonders of Palau

June 10, 2012 by Dave2 Comments

The island nation of Palau is located about 500 miles east of Manilla in the Philippines and about a 2 hour flight from Guam. A number of airlines fly to Palau including United, Delta and China Air. There are numerous flights from Japan. Local car rental companies maintain offices in the small arrivals lounge of the International airport. Unlike some airports where you find only major car rental companies and or more expensive pricing - these … [Read more...]

New York, New York!

March 27, 2012 by Hans BeltranLeave a Comment

New York, New York! One of the most important cities in the World, a finance capital loved by millions and hated by other thousands, a city of contrasts where beauty and wildness are combined in perfect harmony, stinking the oxygen of its inhabitants with a magnificent and intoxicating lifestyle that once you experience it, change your very core forever. With a unique character, given by the fact that there is a citizen from every single part … [Read more...]
