Stingray City – November 2016

November 1, 2016 by Dave1 Comment

Stingray City is one of the Cayman Island's most visited natural attractions and is certainly a very memorable highlight of a visit to the Grand Cayman. In 1951 Capt. Marvin Ebanks borrowed a sailboat and started making all day trips out to this part of the reef - taking tourists to visit the stingrays. He pioneered these trips (today a number of outfitters offers trips to Stingray City. While the Captain passed on at the ripe old age of 98 in … [Read more...]

Israel, The Holy Land

October 7, 2016 by Jacki Ueng1 Comment

There is a magical land located in the Middle East; it is but a relatively small dot on the map, but has played an enormous role politically and religiously throughout recorded history. This is a place described in the Old Testament as the Holy Land, home to the Israelites. This is Israel - a landscape of deserts, beaches and at times, snow-capped mountains. Israel is a travel destination sought out by a diversity of travelers: the foodie, the … [Read more...]

Traveling Kids Grow up Too Fast

July 13, 2016 by Dean Williamson3 Comments

Traveling kids have a big advantage over their “stay at home” peers, in my opinion. The world is an amazing place but especially so for young children as everything they see is fresh and exciting, filled with wonder. Traveling with them adds a whole new level of joy and energy to any trip as you feed off their enthusiasm. As I have just discovered, it comes at a long term cost to parents, but more on that later. Little travelers have a … [Read more...]

The American’s Guide to Martinique

June 2, 2016 by Chris Picardi6 Comments

We decided to go to Martinique purely because we found extremely affordable tickets nonstop from Boston. Norwegian Airlines (yes that is a real airline) now has a direct flight from Boston to Fort de France for $220 which almost sounds too good to be true. Prior to stumbling upon these flights, we knew absolutely nothing about the island, but after our week-long adventure we consider ourselves experts and wish to share our new-found knowledge … [Read more...]

You know? Sleeping in an airport ain’t so bad

March 23, 2016 by Will SandovelLeave a Comment

Traveling for me is the memorable experience of exploring countries that few have had the privilege of visiting. I have travelled to many countries around the world; during my journeys I have experienced both amazing, yet sometimes even unpleasant things. One of these unpleasant experiences is when you look up at the monitors in an airport and see that your flight has been severely delayed. If you fly, you are certainly familiar with this - … [Read more...]
