Dream Communication

February 23, 2011 by DaveLeave a Comment

Sometimes the world works in mysterious ways.

This is an interesting story from several weeks ago in rural Thailand. I never think of my high school history teacher (last I thought of him was about 5 years ago) and furthermore I never have vivid dreams (or if I do, I never remember them) and I don’t believe in stuff that is not tangible.

A day after the dream one of my former teacher’s colleagues wrote me to tell me my high school teacher had passed away the previous night. And he also told me this teacher started the Asian Studies program at my particular high school and spent some time working in Asia over the years.

While here in the Thai village I had a dream about my former high school teacher (it was a nightmare that was as real as it gets). I had chills for 2 hours afterwards and couldn’t sleep (this NEVER happens)- and when we woke up in the morning I told my wife all about it.

The dream makes no sense but here it is:
My former teacher was a teller at a bank – I walked in to make a deposit with my sister, she waited. There were Burmese protesters colorfully dressed lying in fetal positions on their backs inside the door (how I knew they were Burmese and protesters i have no idea!) I saw my old teacher at the counter, walked up to him and called him by his full name (odd)- he said he had been trying to email me for a number of years but his email always was bounced back. We made small talk – then all of the sudden he went into convulsions, I waited a few seconds and then I yelled out to call 911.

I saw a number of people look up from behind the counter (none of whom i recognized) – I saw all their faces very vividly & clearly, each one different and very real – then in slow motion they all looked down and went back to their business totally ignoring my cry for help. My former teacher was slumped down in his chair, unconscious and I turned away. Someone or something very scary was running towards me out of the darkness and at this point I woke up making noise causing my wife to stir but not awaken.

“Weird” stuff like this never happens to me, or at least I’m never cognizant of it. Because everything about this is so out of the normal – I wanted to share it.
