Mickey (G)ears up for Christmas!

November 23, 2012 by DaveLeave a Comment

Mickey Mouse and his friends are this month already getting ready for the spectacularly magical Christmas season.

Although Florida is a brilliant place to visit during the bright summer months, Disney World arguably contains even more magic in the winter! With discount Disney World Florida attraction tickets from Florida for Less, be sure to get out there this Christmas.

Known as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the special Christmas event takes place on selected evenings throughout November and December at the Magic Kingdom theme park.

Although prices are a little on the high side (around $62-$69 for adults), you can be assured one of the best Christmas parties that the world has to offer; just make you get your tickets as soon as possible because they sell out quickly.

But what exactly happens at the party?

Starting with the falling of ‘snow’ on the Main Street of the Magic Kingdom, your children will be adorned by generous helpings of cookies and hot chocolate, or ‘hot cocoa’ if you want to fit in with the natives.

With 200,000 icicles positively shivering with excitement from Cinderella Castle, the annual Christmas parade is of course the highlight of the evening.

Although the regular day time ones are some of the most colourful, loud and exciting parades in the world, all the stops are of cause pulled in aid of the party.

With giant gingerbread men, elves, snowmen plus all the usual gang (with seasonal outfits), your children can be assured of a Christmas with a magical difference.

The party starts at 7pm and the great news is that the majority of the Kingdom’s most popular attractions are to remain open throughout until the very end at 11:59pm.

But of course for around sixty fine American dollars, you would expect a little more than that wouldn’t you?
Well the good news is that there is so much more.

Besides the Christmastime parade (occurring at 8:15 and 10:30), a huge firework display, known as ‘holiday wishes’ happens at every party and is continually one of the biggest firework performances of the year.

If that doesn’t raise your interest however, the Celebrate the Season Stage Show takes place at every party and involves the whole cast, dressing up in the most spectacular of costumes, dancing clumsily and enjoying themselves in the Christmas setting.

With almost every Christmas wish now fulfilled, there’s just one thing left to do, and that’s meet the characters themselves.

Thankfully there are an array of places to do this including at the Golden Horseshoe building known as ‘Woody’s Hootin’ Holiday Round-Up where you can dance with Woody himself along with an ensemble of your favourite characters from the Toy Story series.

Another place to meet some of your favourite characters are at the many meet and greets where you can see many of the classic characters including Snow White and of course, the Seven Dwarfs.

Though you may be paying slightly larger than life prices for the party you can be assured that you will in fact be meeting and enjoying larger than life people that you or your family will never forget.
