After using Bangkok as a base to visit all its neighboring countries and their neighboring countries I had run out of new countries to visit within say a three hour plane ride of Thailand (don't get me wrong, there are many places I haven't yet visited in the countries I've already been to). More Thai Village Life
We spent the better part of the afternoon husking and opening very mature coconuts in preparation for a big dinner tonight (coconut curry). I had flashbacks of Wilson in that Tom Hanks movie from several years ago. I've eaten hundreds of coconuts over the years but never from one that had already started sprouting. So I'm back in my wife's village after a hectic several weeks of travel in Japan and Thailand (hence the shortage of blog posts). This is Eastern Thailand, about 90 minutes from the wild outpost of Poipet, on the Thai/Cambodian border. Gulf Shores & Orange Beach, Alabama

Bridge of Life
This "bio" museum (Bridge of Life) at the time of our visit was under construction; it is located on the Amador Causeway (made from rocks excavated from the Panama Canal) that connects the island region of Amador to the mainland (about 20-25 minutes from Panama City.
