This is the original Balbaa Village and they can easily seat 300+ people when its busy. Upstairs and downstairs dining. The highlight of a visit here is their huge selection. As soon as you sit down a plethora of plates are immediately brought to your table (appetizers including Egyptian salad and pickled vegetables as well as freshly backed flat bread) – the menu’s are all in Arabic so its helpful if you someone who reads Arabic with you. Pick out your fresh seafood from displays on the ground floor.
Balbaa serves very nice grilled fish, pigeon (stuffed or grilled plain) and liver. This is not a tourist restaurant – you will be surrounded by locals when you dine here. Because this original restaurant is so popular they also operate several other restaurants in the city – but be sure you go to the original one. During a recent lunch here, we spent over 3 hours slowly eating our way through the meal!
