Burj Khalifa (formerly Burj Dubai) UAE – This is the world’s tallest building…by far! It towers above its closest rivals which are the Makkah Clock Royal Tower and the Makkah Clock Royal Tower in Saudi Arabia. When you stand close to its base and look up it is hard to believe humans can create something so tall. It is overwhelming. The building stands more than 800 meters tall over 2600 feet! It topped out at 160+ stories, and well you can do the math! During the construction it was common for entire floors to be completed within a week or less especially as the Burj reached higher heights.

Dubai is a city with a “can do anything” outlook on construction with human made islands in the shape of palm trees, islands in the shape of the 7 continents resembling “the world”, huge indoor ski resorts, a “7-star” resort and more. The Burj Khalifa (formerly Burj Dubai) features many unique engineering concepts including a unique observation platform, world’s highest elevator, interesting swimming pools, and more! This building is also called the Dancing Burj as due to its great height it has to deal with sometimes high winds. Constructing a building this tall is one way humans can reach living altitudes/environments which are much more pleasant! For more info visit the official website: www.burjkhalifa.ae
