Shopping in Florence – Your Guide to the Best Shopping Spots

Florence, Italy offers many exciting things to do and great places to see. Simply rent one of the Florence apartments for your holiday and you’ll be able to enjoy all that this beautiful city has to offer. Of course, you won’t want to miss taking some time to go shopping at the incredible shops available in the area. With so many great shops to choose from, you’ll be able to find vintage items, designer fashions, jewellery and more. If you’re not sure where to get started, here is an easy guide to the best shopping spots to check out while you’re visiting Florence.

Shopping for Fashion
Florence is well known for offering some wonderful fashion designers. To find some of the best boutiques and luxury shops, you’ll want to visit Via Tornabuoni. This street is well known for offering incredible shops that offer the most wonderful fashions. Some of the boutiques you’ll find include Pucci, Gucci, Ferragamo, Bulgari, Cartier, Prada and many more. You can go on to visiting more shops for Lacoste, Etro and more on Via della Vigna Nuova. These are just a few of the areas you can find lovely Italian fashions and you’ll probably find fashion shops in many other areas as well.

Shopping for Jewellery
You are sure to find wonderful shops in Florence that offer beautiful jewelry as well. Whether you’re shopping for yourself or someone special in your life, a great place to get started is Ponte Vecchio. This area is very famous for some of the incredible jewelry shops it offers, which can be found on the bridge. These shops offer unique and handmade jewelry items, including pins, rings, bracelets, necklaces and more. Take your time and enjoy seeing the exquisite creations made in these shops.

Shopping for Leather Items
Many people who visit Florence are interested in the incredible leather products that come out of this city. Italian leather is very popular, especially when it comes to wallets, jackets, belts and bags. To get started, check out the San Lorenzo market. You can also find some great leather shops in the Piazza Santa Croce area. As you start visiting these shops, make sure to pay attention to the leather quality and the prices. It’s a good idea to bargain for a lower prices, especially when you are purchasing several different leather items.

Shopping in Outdoor Markets
Within the city, outdoor markets are quite popular. If you want to experience the outdoor market, check out the Mercato Centrale, which is located in the San Lorenzo district. Many different vendors set up in the market, offering leather goods, various foods, ceramics and more. If you’re looking for tourist items or discounted goods, check out the Mercato Nuovo, located near Ponte Vecchio. Vintage items, antiques, pottery and other goods can be found at the Piazza Santo Spirito as well.

It’s easy to see that so many shopping opportunities are available to you while you take a holiday in Florence. Take your time and explore as many of these areas as you can to find exciting items to take home with you. You’ll probably find that most of these areas are reasonably close to your apartments in Florence, so you shouldn’t have far to go for great shopping opportunities.
