I travel not only because I want to see different places, but also because I want to meet new people, try local delicacies and expose myself to different cultures.

When this blog started in December 2017, I had traveled a decent amount already and was well on my way around the world. Some posts were never written and many of the major trips have articles that were written recently from memory after the fact. Sometimes the boundary of a sovereign nation isn’t always easy to define and there is a very complex answer to “How many countries are there in the world?”

We are Mike and Gayla, natives of south Louisiana, who met while we both were attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. We share a passion for travel and since 1995, we’ve spent the majority of our vacations traveling around Europe. We loved Europe so much, we moved here in 2008.

Im a producer currently living in Los Angeles but my other passion is traveling and that’s why I decided to create this blog. I have never liked writing, so I dont really know why Im so drawn to having my own blog, because that means I have to write A LOT! But I do like to share my experiences when I travel, with anyone out there looking for places to visit in different cities and the recommendations from someone who has already been to those places, and that is why Miladventures exists.
