Jeff and I love to see the world. Its what we do. It’s why we work. But its just as fun for us to share our adventures with family, friends, and fellow travelers.

I am originally from California and still travel back there quite a bit. I am the mom of three boys ages 7,9 and 11 and a dentist. I have a BS in Microbiology from UCSB and my DDS from UOP in San Francisco. I love being alive and having the privilege of getting to experience so much of this world. I think there is a lot of beauty and amazement to be had just around the corner from our house or far away from it.

I grew up in a very small town in Germany and this is still the place I call home. By the age of 17, I spent my first year abroad in Florida/USA. Even though these were occasionally pretty tough times, I fell in love with all the unknown and different ways of life.

For 495 days weve been traveling around the United States, making stops based on suggestions on our map from our friends, family, and followers, making our itinerary a democratic one.

In addition to travel stories, we would like to share with our readers tips and recommendations based on our experiences. We have a love for posh accommodations, yet we are always on a quest to find the next state park and quirky roadside attraction to visit. On our site you will find that we get as much enjoyment from attending a local festival as taking vacations to tropical islands. We hope our blog can help others realize that you don’t need a lot to add spice to your life.

Since starting out as a travel writer after university (almost a decade ago), I’ve travelled to over 50 countries and written for a diverse range of publications including Rough Guides, Business Traveller and The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. My features are often accompanied by my own photographs, taken on my ever-trusty Canon.

Well, truth be told, I'm a 911 Emergency Medical Dispatcher but when I'm not doing that I try to do some of the things I love. I love history, I love to take photographs, I love to write, and I love to travel so it seemed to make sense to put all of those loves together into one spot - this blog.

Although I may have the "dizzies", I'm inviting you to join me as I gingerly travel through life in search of the best bargains in travel, food, and entertainment. Carry-on baggage only and don't forget your sense of humor!
