I am a world traveler and adventure seeker. My twenties were spent fulfilling my wanderlust...swimming with dolphins, spending the night in the Sahara Desert, relaxing in the Blue Lagoon, exploring the great pyramids, snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, and I even once showered with a spider the size of my hand! During my travels I saw a great many interesting things and luckily my camera was always close at hand. It was during these adventures that I discovered my passion for documenting the natural beauty and curious happenings around me.

An experienced traveller with over 3 decades of wandering behind me and a lifetime in front! I have travelled solo in my 20's working as an au pair/nanny all over the world, as a single parent in my 30's and in the last decade with my husband. I love train travel, the colour orange, maps and milkshakes and at the moment we are exploring Europe by train.

At the age of 27, we traded the stereotypical American dream to live our own dream and see the world. We sold all of our belongings and left the US in August 2013.

Trail-stained Fingers is a travel blog that documents the author Ankita Shreeram’s travels in and around Mumbai, India and the world. A product of the author’s first trip to Kerala as a self-sufficient adult in March 2013, the blog has since then grown to be a platform where readers can hope to experience the true soul of a place through the author’s descriptions, stories, photographs and poetry.
