I guess the urge to travel and the fascination for airplanes was inherited because both my parents spent parts of their working life in the travel industry. I do remember my first flight and that also made me interested in airplanes. I am not a full fledged geek but follow the development and the industry.

I’m Sophie Pearce and two years ago I decided to ditch my desk and the thought of ‘settling down’ to backpack around South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand for 6 months. When I got back, I didn’t want the journey to end and so I decided to tick off a few more countries but this time by myself. Travelling solo wasn’t easy at first, in fact it was terrifying, but I fell head over heels in love with it!
