4 places you must visit on your trip to Dublin

February 11, 2022 by Riley SmithLeave a Comment

The Irish capital, Dublin, has attracted visitors for many reasons. A warm and welcoming city, Dublin is also known for its craic (crack), a unique mixture of banter, humour, and intelligence. For centuries, these qualities have drawn writers, intellectuals, and other fun-loving visitors to Dublin.

Dublin marries the ancient with the modern. If you plan to visit this city shortly, put these spots in your itinerary.

St. Patrick’s Cathedral
If you aren’t visiting St. Patrick’s Cathedral, you are surely missing something. Built-in 1191, St. Patrick’s is the national cathedral of the Church of Ireland. Besides being a holy place, this cathedral also holds the mortal remains of Jonathan Swift, Esther Johnson, and Narcissus Marsh. As we all know, Swift is the writer of Gulliver’s Travels.

The Sporting Emporium
Since its launch in 2005, the Sporting Emporium has evolved into the most trusted online casino Ireland. One of the most luxurious casinos you can imagine, it has large gaming floors and advanced casino technology. Sporting Emporium is backed by one of Ireland’s most successful entrepreneurs, Dermot Desmond.

Guinness Storehouse
Your trip to Dublin would be incomplete without visiting the Guinness Storehouse, which epitomizes the heart and soul of Ireland’s beer industry. Soak up the history of Guinness across all the seven floors of this beautiful building. Once you have absorbed Guinness’ rich legacy, climb up to the building’s top floor for a 360-degree view of Dublin.

Here, visitors can enjoy four unique bars; The Gravity Bar, The Connoisseur Bar, 1837 Bar, Brasserie, and Arthur’s Bar, all famous for their atmosphere and service.

The Little Museum of Dublin
The Little Museum of Dublin is a must when visiting. A local history museum chronicles Dublin’s history of the 20th century. More than 5,000 artifacts in this delightful place have been borrowed from the public. Some exciting objects include photos covering Kennedy’s visit to Dublin and U2 memorabilia.

Once you finish your visit to this pretty tourist destination, head over to the Hatch & Sons Irish Kitchen in the basement and grab a coffee.

Conclusion
Dublin has everything for everybody. If you are interested in learning how the city has evolved over the past century, the Little Museum is the perfect destination, while the religious-minded can visit the St. Patrick’s Cathedral, which dates to the late 12th century. On the other hand, gambling and beer enthusiasts can check out the Sporting Emporium and Guinness Storehouse. Either way, no one is left disappointed.
