A Whistlestop Tour of Vegas’ Best Bits

January 9, 2023 by Jonny SpoteLeave a Comment

Ziplining above The Strip will allow you to see all the sites of Vegas

Las Vegas is a dream destination for so many. Often people will stay for at least a week, sometimes a month, soaking up the atmosphere. The city is unlike any other place on Earth, filled with opportunities for gaming, concerts, pool parties, and plenty of eating.

If you’re planning a trip to the City of Sin and aren’t blessed with all of the time in the world, then we’ve collated the most essential tourist sites and experiences that, if you’re really speedy, you might be able to squeeze into a single twenty-four hours.

Play at a Casino
The main reason that tourists come to Vegas is to have a little fun in the casinos. The city is famous as a gaming destination and there are many different venues to choose from. Do a little research before you arrive and find the casino that will suit you best. Some are famous for their high roller tables, others for their choice of slot machines. Deciding what you want to play ahead of time will mean you can make the most of those precious moments whilst you’re there.

As well as this, it’s always a good idea to make sure that you know how to play a game or two before you hit the casinos. Walking in and feeling confident that you know how to bet on a game of roulette, or how to play a hand of poker, will make the whole experience even more enjoyable. Learning to play online is simple for those in the US, as there are plenty of online casinos to choose from. You can learn from home, or even start during your Vegas break.

Soar Above the Strip
A nice way to begin any vacation is to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. The Las Vegas Strip is the heart of the city. Taking a stroll down the strip is a people watcher’s dream at any time of the day or night. However, if you want to see the strip ‘whistle-stop’ style then there is a far quicker way than walking, and no, we aren’t suggesting running.

There’s a zipline service that allows you to hurtle above the strip attached to a wire. You might not see the intricacies of human life with quite so much clarity, but it’s a huge adrenaline rush and a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Watch a Show at Planet Hollywood
Planet Hollywood is famed for having some of the best residencies going. Most recently, they announced a huge residency being played by the great Keith Urban later this Spring and Summer.

Snagging a seat for the more popular residencies needs to be done well in advance, but if you get yourself organized then you’re in for a treat. A full concert hall and a great musician come together with a world-class light show that will be an unforgettable experience for all but the most seasoned concert-goers.

Enjoy a Buffet at Caesar’s Palace
A big part of a Las Vegas holiday is enjoying one of the many buffets. There are plenty to choose from, but the buffet at Caesar’s Palace regularly rakes in the awards. They have excellent chefs preparing delicacies from around the world, some of it served buffet-style and some cooked to order at various stations. You can enjoy decadent treats cooked fresh like steak or lobster, you can gorge on gourmet salads, or you could opt for an entirely dessert-based meal.

There’s absolutely no chance of you trying even just a mouthful of everything on offer, so arrive incredibly hungry and be prepared to not do a great deal for the rest of the evening.

Catch the Light Show at the Bellagio

The light show at Bellagio is truly epic

Whilst you might be feeling too full to move after the buffet, if you can possibly waddle down to the Bellagio then watching the light show in the famous fountain is the perfect way to round off your vacation. The light show happens every hour on the hour and lasts for around thirty minutes. It’s free to view, and afterwards you can take a selfie in front of the jets for the ideal Vegas souvenir.
