Why Arizona Should Be Your Choice For A Motorcycle Road Trip!

September 18, 2021 by Michaella AndersonLeave a Comment

Arizona has long stretches of beautiful highways through amazing landscapes. There are canyons, mesas, and cool ghost towns. As a bonus, it hardly rains there and has an average of 300 sunny days per year. All of this is to say that it is the perfect destination for a motorcycle road trip.

Road trips are a great way to see the off the beaten path destinations that make the US such a unique country. And there is no better way to do a road trip than on the seat of a motorcycle. In this article, we will go over some of the reasons that Arizona is perfect for a motorcycle road trip.

It’s very safe
Once you get away from the urban setting of Phoenix, there are vast stretches of open road where you may not see another driver for hours. Traffic is not a thing. The roads are straight and wide and in very good shape.

This isn’t to say accidents are unheard of or that you won’t ever need motorcycle lawyers, but it is a very safe place to drive a motorcycle.

Not only are the roads great for driving, but the weather is too. It hardly rains so there is more opportunity to get out riding without the threat of a weather-related accident.

The only real danger on the roads is that there is so much to see around you that you may forget to keep your eyes on the road!

Great year-round weather
Getting away from the crowds can be tough. Most people have vacation time during the summer and tend to make every place very crowded. When you want to avoid the crowds, going off-season means dealing with less than ideal weather.

This is not the case with Arizona which is warm during all seasons. Even when the winter gets cold, it is still generally warm enough to ride a motorcycle comfortably. This opens up the calendar to accommodate your time off very nicely.

It is very hot in the summer, however, so you have to be very careful when you are on the road. Always have a plan so you can stop and cool down. Also, higher elevations do get snow and ice. Visiting the Grand Canyon is tricky in the winter as it is several thousand feet above sea level.

Lots of stunning nature
The landscape in Arizona is a feast for the eyes. It boasts many different types of environments with all of them being very distinct. For instance, the cliffs of Sedona are multicolored and change during the course of the day. It is a wonderful place to stop and take in some spa days in an incredibly rich landscape.

The Grand Canyon attracts visitors from all over the world for its unique and stunning beauty. Seeing it by motorcycle adds to the effect. There are ancient craters to wonder at and hike around as well as the Petrified Forest.
