Barcelona by Bike

April 5, 2011 by Miss MociLeave a Comment

A growing number of hybrid cars roams the streets and the use of public transportation is increasingly encouraged. This is particularly the case in big urban areas, where the public-transportation system tends to be well-developed and reliable. If you rent apartments in Barcelona, Paris, or Berlin there is no need to rent a car, a subway ticket will be just fine get around the city. Another trend that goes hand in hand with caring for our … [Read more...]

Casino Du Lac-Leamy: Offers ‘Lady Luck’ and Other Pleasures

March 28, 2011 by Habeeb SalloumLeave a Comment

Quebec Outaouais Casino du Lac Leamy We were excited as we walked in a glass walkway between the Hilton Hotel and the Casino Lac-Leamy located in the same complex in the city of Gatineau, across the river from Ottawa, Canada's Capital. This evening we were going to dine in the Casino's gourmet restaurant - one of the best dining places in the Ottawa Region - the only CAA/AAA Five Diamond ranked in the area. "Move quickly!" One of my … [Read more...]

LA Gangland Tours

March 21, 2011 by Dave4 Comments

I'll be writing a much more detailed story about this at some point because this is a great story. I had the opportunity to join one of the LA Gangland Tours. This unique organization is not glorifying gang violence and activities rather they are humanizing it, raising awareness, and raising money to work with kids before they get sucked into this "culture" as well as other preventative measures against the gangs. Its touching to see rival … [Read more...]

A Trip To Samar

March 4, 2011 by Junfil OlarteLeave a Comment

A soft breezy sunrise rouses me as my ship nears the coast and moors at the docks of Maguino-o, off the city of Calbayog Western Samar in the Central Philippines. Sheer weather of the early morning meets the island's pristine seawaters. And I feel like a sixteenth-century explorer reincarnated. "There you are," I whisper upon sighting the shores of Samar. Believing I could reach the location only through history books. One of the very … [Read more...]

Enjoying Sea and Sand in Varadero: A Catamaran Seafari

February 13, 2011 by Habeeb SalloumLeave a Comment

Through the years while visiting Cuba's resort spot Varadero, I have participated in its, many land and sea activities, but I had never taken a catamaran sea tour. However, today, this was to be remedied. I was on my way to join a catamaran safari - one of Varadero's top tourist offerings. Everything in Varadero, a town of some 8,000 inhabitants is geared toward foreign visitors. A spread-out town edged by 22 km (13.5 mi) of sugary- white … [Read more...]

Our Costa Brava Holiday

January 22, 2011 by James1 Comment

Last summer we went on holiday to Spain on the Costa Brava. We stayed at the Hotel Merce in Pineda de Mar (www.pinedademar.org). We loved this hotel. The food is very good, Spanish cuisine, with breakfast and abundant fruit and vegetables from the garden of the hotel owners. The rooms are good and with a cheap price. What distinguishes this hotel is its family and friendly atmosphere of the owners and staff of the Hotel. You feel in Spain. They … [Read more...]

Strange Jaunt In Kidapawan: The City Of Highland Springs

November 9, 2010 by Junfil OlarteLeave a Comment

Steering through the upland regions of Bukidnon to the highly elevated vicinity of North Cotabato can be the most tedious journey I've ever done in Southern Philippines. The vast land area, long and winding trail had taken us 7 hours to reach the intended destination. Such a wearisome travel was later exchanged with excitement, as we arrived in the city being warmly treated by intimates who, too, were part of the important visit. Situated off … [Read more...]
