Los Angeles, CA – Beverly Hills

by Dave · Leave a Comment

Los Angeles, CA - Beverly Hills is a wealthy community much loved by locals and visitors. Drive around some of the local neighborhoods and into Bel Air. Whoooee. Fancy. You can see the homes in the flats, and each one has a clearly showing security sign on a stake driven into the ground somewhere in their front yard. Drive up into the hills and you are lucky if you can even see the homes - as often they are gated or protected in front by large … [Read more...]

Los Angeles, CA – Cardrooms Casinos

by Dave · 1 Comment

Cardrooms/Casinos - There are no Indian Reservations within the city limits of Los Angeles so technically there are no casinos within Los Angeles. Rather these businesses are cardrooms, but each cardroom cleverly has decided to incorporate the word casino in their names (which is misleading to the casual gambler). These cardrooms do not have slot machines, rather their focus is on card games including but not limited to blackjack, poker and … [Read more...]

samoa-beach

The islands of Samoa are emerging as an exciting new South Pacific travel destination between Hawaii and New Zealand. This "Heart of Polynesia" is politically split into two distinct entities 80 miles apart. The country Samoa is a former German colony, captured by New Zealand in 1914 and granted independence in 1962. In 1997 the name was changed from Western Samoa to Samoa. American Samoa is the only U.S. territory south of the equator. … [Read more...]

Since you are going together with your children, they will need to be the key point to consider if you are all to have a great vacation. My Foreign Language

February 5, 2006 by Al Seymour SightsLeave a Comment

The preparation for the trip back to Vietnam was almost as unsettling as the trip itself. Mom didn't want me to go because she was afraid something might happen to me. I had planned to go with several other people, including a Vietnamese guy who goes by his Catholic name of 'Matthew,' and I had assured mom that Matthew would look after me since he had gone back several times already. Father had demanded that I not go because he didn't want me … [Read more...]

Bishop, CA – Restaurants

by Dave · 3 Comments

Aaron Schat's Roadhouse is located at 871 N Main St in downtown Bishop. Another one of a surprisingly number of restaurants in this part of the Eastern Sierra carrying the last name of Schat. Just up the street from the famous Erick Schat's Bakkery.   Offers a variety of high quality dishes including gourmet burgers, rotisserie chicken, and slow-smoked ribs. A woodsy interior offers plenty of indoor seating overlooking Main Street. For … [Read more...]
