Abu Dhabi, Too Good to be True?

February 1, 2024 by Dave3 Comments

I discovered Jannah Burj Al Sarab online, a property advertising itself as a 5-star hotel for the price of $39/night plus taxes (total price was $45/night). Always a sucker for deals, I immediately booked. After staying a night here I can say this was one of the better hotel deals I've gotten anywhere on my travels. Taxis and various beautiful cars were lined up waiting on the driveway next to the lobby (always a good sign of luxury), the room … [Read more...]

Koh Mak Seafood, Koh Mak Thailand – February 2024

February 1, 2024 by DaveLeave a Comment

We've been fortunate to have eaten at this restaurant multiple times over multiple trips to Koh Lak. Every time we come to this island we dream of the food here for several week before our arrival. Arguably the best restaurant on the island. Both the quality of the seafood and the gentle ambiance make for a memorable meal. Located next to a small bay the restaurant extends over the water with several dining spaces. The most coveted tables are … [Read more...]

Hiking the High Coast of Sweden

January 10, 2024 by Anders PalmLeave a Comment

Here I am, overlooking a part of the beautiful High Coast of Sweden. The lovely view is thanks to a geological phenomenon where some parts of this area started rising as the heavy Ice Age glaciers melted away. The High Coast, or "Höga Kusten" in Swedish, is a unique stretch of coastline located in the northeast of Sweden, and the water you see in the distance is the Gulf of Bothnia, a northern extension of the Baltic Sea. The remarkable … [Read more...]
