Two more book reviews!
Here are two more book reviews, they are all found on my book review page here:
I typically review a couple of travel related books each month.
THE FREEWAYS OF LOS ANGELES

It is hard to review your own book and not be biased - but writing this review should theoretically be easy! The Freeways of Los Angeles highlights all the major freeways in the Los Angeles and Orange County Metropolitan Regions. Short descriptions are provided about each freeway which in part includes their common names, photographs, special geographic features, and other items of interest. Part entertaining, part historical and part obsessive, this book is an entertaining read. In all likelihood, tourists and locals alike in la Cuidad de Los Angeles will find this book useful and informative.
LUNATIC EXPRESS

This is a fascinating read about travel through countries with some of the world's craziest and most dangerous transportation networks. Author Hoffman's recollections of his journey are gripping, engaging, reflective and at times humorous. He travels as locals would almost always in the lowest seating class - from the insanely crowded Mumbai trains where over 4,000 are killed annually due to train related accidents to the -40F temperatures experienced when he hopped a ride in an old 20 ton truck for 36 hours (on a dirt track) in the dead of winter in Mongolia. He purposely seeks out the world's most dangerous airplanes, ferries, trains and buses. As a curious reporter, Hoffman wants to understand how nearly all of the world's population by numbers, travel.

Internet in China
Greetings from China - is interesting to see what is and isn't blocked over here. Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Youtube and other social networking sites are blocked. Having a remote server helps as I can telnet into the box and then load up any of those sites as necessary.
Would be nice to capture some of the world's largest Internet market but non Chinese sites aren't visited that much...yet.
This is a fascinating article I came across today:
