The Creek Khunkorn, Chiang Rai Thailand – September 2026

September 1, 2026 by DaveLeave a Comment

The Creek Khunkorn is a small, nature‑immersed café hidden along the rural road that leads toward Khun Korn Waterfall, about half an hour outside central Chiang Rai. Walking in one quickly realizes this isn't a 'normal' restaurant in the conventional sense. Old license plates from the various states in the U.S. decorate a wall next to a bar and small covered seating areas overlook a stream. But keep walking and you will see numerous tables and … [Read more...]

A California coast road trip: Big Sur, redwoods, and slow evenings

July 6, 2026 by Axel ThomasLeave a Comment

The Pacific Coast Highway is one of those drives that somehow lives up to its reputation. I had seen a thousand photos before I went, and I still spent the whole trip with my jaw somewhere near the steering wheel. Last spring I drove a stretch of the California coast over a relaxed week, from Monterey down through Big Sur and on toward Santa Barbara, and it reset my definition of a good road trip. One honest note before the highlights. A … [Read more...]

A New Hampshire summer road trip: mountains, lakes, and the quiet charm of the Granite State

July 6, 2026 by Axel ThomasLeave a Comment

Some states shout for your attention. New Hampshire is not one of them, and that is exactly why I keep going back. Wedged between the crowds of Vermont's ski towns and the tourist machinery of coastal Maine, the Granite State just gets on with being quietly spectacular, and summer is when it does its best work. Last July I gave myself a loose week to drive a loop from the seacoast up into the White Mountains and back down through the lakes. I … [Read more...]

Why Communal Ranch Bukidnon Should Be on Your Northern Mindanao Road Trip

July 1, 2026 by Aiden KenzyLeave a Comment

Bukidnon has a way of surprising travelers. One moment, you are passing through long highway stretches and cool mountain towns. Then suddenly, the landscape opens into rolling grasslands, misty ridges, cattle country, and wide scenic views that feel very different from the usual beach-and-waterfall image of Philippine travel. One of the best examples of that highland charm is Communal Ranch in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon. Known for its open … [Read more...]

The island of Phu Quoc is located in the Gulf of Thailand, located closer to the Cambodia border than the Vietnam border.
