Willow Steakhouse Jamestown – When in the historic mining town of Jamestown, California be sure to swagger up to the bar at The Willow Steakhouse, Restaurant & Saloon located at corner of Willow & Main Street. This is an authentic looking western style (gold rush era feel) bar & restaurant with a rich history (be sure to read the history section on their menu). The building dates back to the early 1860’s and was named for the willow trees growing in the area.

The building was hit several times by fire, most recently by a devastating fire in 1982 which destroyed much of the structure. The Willow also has its share of ghost stories! Yes the menu’s are heavy on steaks and meat by that is why you come here. Start with their fondue cheese appetizers; their sunset early bird special is a great deal. Local wines and beers are available. Owned by the same family since 1972.

Note: sadly, as of 2020, Willow Steakhouse is permanently closed.

The Willow has always been the standard for a solid steakhouse in this part of the Sierra foothills. Prime rib, ribeye steak, culotte steak, and the pasta dishes are all fantastic. Of particular note is the cheese fondue, which is worth the calories! Do not miss it!

While the Willow Steakhouse is close for the time being, there is some indication it will reopen in coming months. It has been a staple in the community for centuries and likely will continue to be, despite the short rest the place is currently taking.
