Liguria Bakery San Francisco – This San Francisco based Italian Bakery has been in business since the early 1900’s and they are located at 1700 Stockton Street on the corner of Filbert Street. They serve excellent Italian bread called Foccacia; its not dry or crumbling rather its slightly oily and served fresh. They usually close between 12pm and 2pm depending on when they have sold their last fresh focaccia for the day. Note that if they are sold out of one type, they may have some fresh frozen foccacia for sale. Also if you are going to be there later in the morning or early afternoon it pays to call your order ahead so they can hold a specific amount for you.

Our favorite is the Raisin Foccacia. Prices range from $4-5 for a flat depending on the type. No tables are available in or outside of the bakery – they concentrate only on baking the best possible Foccacia for take out. However should your foccacia craving be so intense as it requires eating upon purchase, note that there are benches available across the street in Washington Park. Many signed celebrity photos line one wall. This bakery closes for the entire month of August. For more info, click here or read our San Francisco Article or call, (415) 421-3786
