Visit San Marino – August 2016

August 1, 2016 by Dave1 Comment

San Marino is entirely land locked surrounded by the Italian borders. It is only 10 km from the Adriatic sea - the country is so small that it does not have its own International airport, but Rimini about 30 minutes away has both an airport and a train station. There are no border formalities - if you want a tourist visa placed in your passport, simply stop by the Tourist Information Office (small fee applies). The country is divided into what … [Read more...]

Visit Liechtenstein – June 2016

June 1, 2016 by DaveLeave a Comment

This small country is nestled among some of Europe's most picturesque alps - between Switzerland and Austria. A visit to the country starts with time in Vaduz, the capital city. This small city can easily be explored in a few hours. Rising high above Vaduz is the the road to the ski and summer town of Malbun. The road is narrow and steep at times - passing above gorgeous scenery, the valley far below and the jagged snow capped mountains rising … [Read more...]

Marchesi Antinori Chianti Classico Cellar: Tuscany, Italy – May 2016

May 1, 2016 by Dave2 Comments

After 600 years, the Antinori Family, arguably Italy's most well-known wine family opened their newest estate winery to the public in early 2013 (by appointment). The cellar is located about 25 minutes from Florence and 30 minutes from Siena. While this is a large winery (67,000 square feet), its physical footprint is barely seen because the entire winery and parking facilities are located underground and are built into the side of a hill. The … [Read more...]

Crystal Caves, Bermuda – April 2016

April 1, 2016 by DaveLeave a Comment

This is one of Bermuda's top attractions...and for good reason. Many caves have large stalactites and stalagmites (Crystal Caves certainly has their fair share of these) but what sets this cave apart are the delicate long and narrow crystal tube like formations that glitter in the light. The cave was discovered in 1905 by two young teenagers who lost their cricket ball in a "hole in the ground". One of the kids was lowered into the hole on the … [Read more...]

Anguilla Watersports, Anguilla – March 2016

March 2, 2016 by DaveLeave a Comment

Anguilla WaterSports was founded by Judson Burdon in 2013. However he originally moved to Anguilla in 2000, fell in love with the slow pace of the island, water sports and never left. When talking to him, one will quickly feel the passion and energy he has for the ocean and water sports. Conversation soon turns to top surfing spots around the world - some of which he has personally surfed. He is also an avid kite surfer having setup a … [Read more...]

Kittitian Hill, St. Kitts & Nevis – February 2016

February 1, 2016 by DaveLeave a Comment

This 400 acre Eco resort is located on the southern part of St. Kitts - on the lower slopes of Mount Liamuiga. The property is centered around an organic farm and features both guesthouses and memorable villas. The property is nowhere near other resorts (or for that matter, the beach) and a visit here is for quiet, privacy and interaction with nature in a luxurious environment. When this much detail has been put into a property - the resulting … [Read more...]
