I am a lover of travel, and so far I have lived in four different countries in the past five years. I have no idea which country (or continent!) I will be living in two years, and that's what I love so much about the travel bug.

When I started this blog I had made the commitment to living a happy and fulfilling life, after years of soul-searching. My initial objective was to share my experience and what I discovered to be the pillars of a blissful life, as I believe we are all in this world to be happy.

Fish and Feathers was launched by journalist Hilde Veeren (Feathers) and photographer Maarten Vis (Fish) in 2009. We have both been working in the (travel) magazine business for over ten years, and decided that publishing our stories in travel magazines alone wasn’t enough. We started our blog during a three-month sabbatical in Asia in 2009. At first just for our friends and family, but as soon as we realised our audience grew each day, we professionalised our blog.
