4 Best Holiday Vacation Destinations

September 14, 2017 by Gabriel GregersLeave a Comment

The holidays are coming and it’s time to book your hotel! It’s always fun to get away for the holidays, whether to relax or see family and friends. If you don’t know where to go this year, check out these four best holiday vacation destinations. Each has something unique to offer to put you in the holiday spirit.

If you’re staying in Oregon for the holidays, several annual events take place close to Portland hotels. Start the season off right at the Holiday Ale Festival to see the largest decorated Christmas tree in the region. Next, head to the Oregon Ballet Theater for an annual performance of the “Nutcracker” or other classics, like “Swan Lake.”

Walking around the Festival of Lights at the Grotto or seeing the Lights on Peacock Lane will also put you in the holiday spirit. Other attractions you won’t want to miss in Portland around the holidays include the Zoolights Festival, Winter Wonderland at the Portland International Raceway, the Christmas Ship Parade, and the Cinnamon Bear Cruise.

Nashville, Tennessee (Image via Flickr by tbertor1)
Another great city to visit during the holidays is Nashville. You can go see Christmas at Graceland where the Presley family decorates with blue lights and a live Nativity scene. The Country Music Hall of Fame also hosts its annual Deck the Halls Concert Series with free activities, live music, and more. Plus, there are tons of outdoor holiday light displays close to Nashville hotels, such as the Enchanted Garden of Lights, Smoky Mountain Winterfest, and Holiday Lights at Cheekwood. Everything looks magical on these chilly nights.

Savannah, Georgia (Image via Flickr by TheNickster)
Savannah is a charming city that will make your holiday vacation relaxing and fun. Savannah hotels range from inexpensive family rooms to luxury suites. Book something nice to make your holidays more enjoyable. While you’re in the city, walk Savannah’s Historic District or visit the 18th-century Wormsloe Historic Site. Holiday attractions include the annual Christmas on the River celebration, “A Christmas Tradition” at the Savannah Theatre, the Boat Parade of Lights, and the Savannah Harbor Holiday Series.

New York City, New York
New York City is a magical place to spend the holidays. The city sparkles with holiday lights from Time Square and Rockefeller Center to Central Park and Fifth Avenue. Get a New York City hotel nearby to enjoy the city by foot. The beginning of the Christmas season is marked by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, but there are plenty of other events and attractions to fill your time. Go skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park, see the Rockettes at the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, or gaze at the ginormous Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center.

A holiday vacation in Portland, Nashville, Savannah, and New York City will be one to remember. Book a holiday hotel today before all the rooms fill up. With the right accommodations, your stay will be fantastic and you’ll be recharged for another year.
